The line and security to get in was quick and efficient, despite it looking frighteningly long.
The wait for the interview was three hours for us, with no working snack machines or drinks. We managed to find one water station that worked.
The interview itself was 5-10 minutes. Confirmation of a few questions that were on the application. We brought our newborn and he happily breastfed and had to have his diaper changed during the interview. He was adored by most of the staff, and they were very kind and efficient.

Very quick interview, did not last more than 15 minutes, a few questions about how we met, our families, and friends. The USCIS employee was very respectful and frliendly.

Went for an interview with my husband for his AOS. They were very organized and efficient, surprisingly short wait! Our appointments was at 9:55 am. We arrived for security around 9:15 am and had our interview around 10:15 am. We were interviewed by Officer Morgan who was friendly and professional. She asked for the originals of our birth certificates, marriage license, daughter’s birth certificate, joint financial documents and joint tax return. She asked some basic informational questions and went through the inadmissibility questions.

We received an electronic notification that the green card was in production by that same evening.

Wishing all of you applicants a similarly positive experience if you are going to the NYC USCIS office.

*Tip: the security check is just like the airport security so be prepared to take off your shoes!

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

The security experience was similar to airport security. We had to take off our shoes, and place our belongings and jackets in the bins. The officers working were relatively relaxed and the process was quick. They didn't check our appointment time, so we could enter 25 minutes before our appointment time. (We wanted to give ourselves some time to find the room).
Once upstairs, we checked in by showing our interview notice, our IDs, taking our temperatures and fingerprints.
We waited almost 3 hours to be called in to see the officer. Because of the letter+number waiting room system they used, it's impossible to tell when you will be called and they don't call the numbers in order. We would definitely recommend bringing a snack, and using the washroom before checking in. There are bathrooms on the same floor as the USCIS offices.
When we were called, the officer escorted us back, we swore an oath, and they checked our documents. The original documents they requeste... read complete review

Me and my husband (applicant) went there this morning. Finding place wasn't hard. Went through security. Went to office. They asked for appointment document, they confirmed we were there only 15 minutes ahead of our appt. The first lady gave us a number. We waited approximately 1 hr. and 15 minutes thereafter. We got seen called in by a lady who was going to take our interview.

She was a very cordial lady, and our interview lasted approx. 30 minutes. She first asked for our govt. IDs, and his EAD/AP (and copies of it that we had already). She initially had an issue with our Driver Licenses being from Florida, but I explained I've been working on a temporary project in NY for approx. 2 years and provided proof of that. She was okay with that documentation.

Then she went through his application, asked questions and checked everything he answered that was consistent (i.e. same as application info.) She asked name, DOB, SSN, address, parents name, date of mar... read complete review
